UniCredit will once again be the Title Sponsor of the relay race for the upcoming edition.
The UniCredit Relay Marathon stands out as an event within the event. Over its 12 editions, it has contributed to the growth of the marathon, the running movement, and strengthened ties with the city of Milan and its community.
This major charity-focused event is brought to life through the Charity Program, which enables runners to purchase race bibs through official non-profit organizations (ETS – Enti del Terzo Settore), thereby supporting and financing their activities and charitable projects.
The program has seen continuous growth, primarily thanks to the increasing participation of runners. Since its introduction in 2010, it has raised over €6.5 million in funds.
In 2024 alone, more than 100 non-profit organizations participated, and approximately 4,000 teams registered, raising €1.46 million via the Rete del Dono platform – the project’s partner – representing over a 25% increase compared to the previous year. This was achieved through donations from companies, charitable runners, and crowdfunding campaigns.
Several organizations have already confirmed their participation for 2025, including: Fondazione IBVA, #RUNFOREMMA & friends, SOS Villaggi dei Bambini, WeWorld-GVC, Ente Nazionale Protezione Animali (ENPA), La Gotita, Fondazione Laureus Sport for Good Italia, Make-A-Wish Italia, C’è Da Fare, AIC Lombardia Onlus, Fondazione Dynamo Camp, Fondazione Italiana Diabete, Fondazione Telethon, Sport Senza Frontiere, VIDAS, YouSport, Amici di Marco, Medici con l’Africa Cuamm, Fondazione Milan, Associazione Italiana Sclerosi Multipla (AISM), Comunità Oklahoma, LILT Monza Brianza, Fondazione AIRC, PlayMore!, and the 2025 Charity of the Year, Fondazione TOG. This organization will promote the importance of fostering a culture of giving for meaningful causes.
Additionally, 2025 will see many new participants, including Humana People to People Italia (environmental protection), Medici del Mondo (social and healthcare assistance), Gabry Little Hero (social inclusion), Fondazione Asino per la Neurochirurgia Oncologica (scientific research), and Cooperativa Lotta Contro l’Emarginazione Onlus (civil rights advocacy), among others.
Remo Taricani, Deputy Head of Italy at UniCredit, stated:
“UniCredit supports the world of sports and the values it embodies. We see sports as one of the most powerful tools for inclusion and community building. Supporting a significant sporting event like the Relay Marathon, involving over 10,000 runners, means promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Participating in Italy’s most important charitable relay also allows us to support an incredible solidarity project involving over 100 non-profit organizations, 15 of which are featured on our fundraising platform, ‘Il Mio Dono.’”
Paolo Bellino, CEO and General Manager of RCS Sports & Events, commented:
“We are delighted to renew our partnership with UniCredit, one of the most important banking groups in Italy and worldwide. The 2024 edition of the marathon set a record for fundraising, exceeding €1.4 million, and we expect more than 16,000 relay participants in the next event. This ambitious goal reflects the growth of an event that has become a highly anticipated and appreciated occasion for runners. Solidarity runs as fast as the athletes: the 2025 Charity Program sold out in less than two months, and on Sunday, April 6, 102 non-profit organizations will line up at the starting line.”
